Untold Stories Academy Online Book Club.png

The Untold Stories Academy Online Book Club has been set up to bring readers together to talk about books! If you love books and literature, then this could be the group for you. To join, you must be an avid reader and be 18-30 years old.

How it works:

The book club will be run on a monthly basis and will be structured as follows:

  • Introductions

  • Book of the month discussion (selected by vote from member recommendations)

  • Member recommendations discussion

In due course, we will also be launching member and guest talks. As this is the first session, the club will run without the 'talk' section. The book for our first discussion will be Where the Crawdad's Sing by Delia Owens - a popular book to get us started.

Expectations:

Each month, we ask that you bring along a book of your choice to recommend to others in the group. You will be asked to share a brief summary and one reason why you enjoyed it so much.

While the group is informal, please join promptly and show a willingness to participate in conversations. This is a discussion group so it will only work if people are willing to share ideas. Discussions will revolve around authors, book covers, contexts, plot inspirations, writing styles, and much, much more.

Genres:

While readers with a variety of literary tastes are welcome, the general focus of this group is on meaningful literature. We tend to avoid horror (unless this rule is not exclusive) and have a strict policy against erotica, extreme violence and overtly disturbing themes.

Membership:

As this is the first session, it is free for all attendees to join, provided you are over the age of 18. Anyone wishing to return will be charged a small fee of £5 a month. This fee will go towards Zoom costs and monthly speakers.
